"(We are) at a time when companies lose an estimated $200 billion annually in absenteeism, subpar performance, tardiness, and workers' compensation claims related to stress…'If businesses were clever, what they would do is simply put time aside [and have] a quiet room for people to carry out a meditative behavior of their choice,' says Herbert Benson, M.D."Business Week

CENTER FOR CORPORATE HEALTH
Stress is a fact of life for most working people today. It is estimated that job stress costs employers a staggering $2 billion annually in absenteeism, sub-par performance, tardiness, and worker's compensation claims.

Research has shown that:

More than 50% of adults report high stress each day
Sixty to ninety percent (60-90%) of office visits to health care professionals
are for stress-related complaints
Accept and better cope with certain chronic conditions
Stress is directly linked to numerous medical conditions such as hypertension,
asthma, chronic pain, insomnia, allergies and others, which can account for
significant job absenteeism.

The Center for Corporate Health brings wellness programming into the workplace in formats customized to match the employer's specific needs. We can deliver a lunch time talk, a day-long workshop, or a series of wellness courses, similar to those we recently provided to staff at all levels at State Street Corporation. Topics usually range from general stress management, to work/family balance, to ways to adopt healthier lifestyle behaviors; what is constant is our unique mix of lecture and experiential learning and our responsiveness to the audience.

If you require a speaker for a specific event, we have clinicians with varied areas of expertise who are also seasoned presenters and educators.
