The Mind/Body Infertility Weekend Retreat
The Mind/Body Infertility Weekend Retreat is an intensive, two-day retreat that teaches individuals and couples the same mind/body approaches that have proven so effective in our Mind Body Program for Infertility for years. The Retreat offers invaluable help and support to people experiencing infertility. Research has shown that learning and practicing mind body strategies helps to decrease physical symptoms related to infertility such as insomnia, fatigue, and headache. It has also been shown to reduce feelings of distress, depression, anxiety, isolation and anger.

November 3rd - November 4th; 2007
Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday 9:00am to 3:00pm

Parking is FREE.
Cost: $400 for an individual and $750 for a couple
Fee includes: 2 day educational seminar, program manual, resource materials, a relaxation cd, yoga instruction, light breakfast and lunch.
This program combines lecture, skills training, and group sharing to enable participants to take control of their health. Participants get the latest information on how lifestyle can impact fertility and to be part of a supportive group sharing similar experiences.
Elements of the program include:
- Elicitation of the relaxation response through numerous techniques such as diaphragmatic breathing, imagery, and mindfulness
- Examination and challenging of negative thought patterns
- Recommendations for proper nutrition, plus a discussion of "food as medicine"
- Tips for designing an exercise program suited to your needs
- Up to date information about the impact of exercise, nutrition and other lifestyle choices on reproductive health
- Practice of effective communication and self-care
Infertility Program outcomes show success in:
- decreasing physical symptoms, such as insomnia, headaches, fatigue, and pain
- reducing high levels of depression, anxiety, frustration, social isolation, and anger
- increasing chances of conception (42% of participants became pregnant within 6 months of program’s end)
- restoring a sense of control and well-being
